FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Sub-types
What is the purpose of the sub-type field when putting on a requisition? What sub-type should I use?
Sub-types are used for budget purposes. It is important to complete this field correctly, in order to make sure that the request is directed to the correct person, and approved in a timely manner. If the incorrect sub-type is used, the computer will not recognize your order as available for shipment and you may miss your delivery date.
Please Note: To ensure that orders are completed promptly, they should be entered and approved one week prior to the scheduled delivery date.

Transparencies
What types of transparencies are available in the warehouse?a. One type of transparency can be used with Thermo-Fax machines only. These can be used with markers and the marker ink will erase. This type of transparency can be used repeatedly. (Our warehouse stocks three of these transparencies:
#530-0160 - black on clear is a permanent item in the warehouse.
#530-0140 - black on color
#530-0180 black on blue - currently in the warehouse but are being phased out
b. Another type of transparency can be used on copy machines
#530-0130 - When markers are used with this type of transparency, the ink WILL NOT erase. In order to re-use this type of transparency, it is suggested that it be inserted into a loose-leaf page protector (our warehouse #510-3560) or used in conjunction with an acetate overlay (our warehouse #530-0020).
Pencils
Why are the pencils that are stocked in the warehouse defective?
Can we send them back?
Sanford, our original supplier, had changed the way they manufactured their pencils. They failed to notify the district that this change had been made, and we sent most of the defective stock to schools before the problem had been identified. It was impossible to notify schools of the problem and recover unopened stock in time to return it to Sanford and order pencils that had the lead bonded to wood. A new shipment of pencils that are bonded is expected at any time, and that should alleviate future problems.
Filament Tape
What kind of tape will adhere to masonry walls?
If material is to be fastened to masonry walls, masking tape should be used. Filament tape is not designed for use on masonry walls.
Mileage Reports
Why are District Office departments and schools being charged for the Mileage Report Forms?
Rich reported that he discussed the problem with the District's Business Administrator, D. Burke Jolley, and it was decided to discontinue this charge.
